But not everyone needs the same thing. That's why ePEARL comes in three levels, and with personalizable features!

In order to make ePEARL both appropriate and appealing to a wide variety of users, there are three levels to the software:

Level 1, intended for grades 1 & 2, focuses mainly on reading and writing skills, and is a simplified version of the next two levels. It also provides an introduction to self regulation processes, such as goal setting and reflection.

Level 2 is designed for students in grades 3-6 and supports more complex work as well as conferencing features.

Level 3, created for secondary school students, uses more detailed self-regulatory language and a more mature appearance.

Students using Level 2 or 3 have the ability to personalize their ePEARLs by selecting from a number of different themes, modifying their welcome screen and creating individual banners. We believe that feeling ownership over one's portfolio is crucial and the electronic portfolio can be as personal as any print-based one.
